Text & Q&A
The two simplest, always-free knowledge types — pasted text snippets and question/answer pairs.
The quickest way to give an agent knowledge is to type it in. Both of these knowledge types are available on every plan and are ready to use the moment you save them.
Manual text
Paste any freeform content — an FAQ, a returns policy, an "about us", shipping details. Give it a title and save. The agent treats pasted text as authoritative (you typed it deliberately), so it's ideal for the answers you most want it to get right.
Open Text snippets
On the agent's Data sources page, choose the text option and click New source.
Paste and title
Enter a title and paste your content.
Save
The snippet is indexed immediately and is searchable right away. Edit it any time — changes are re-indexed on save.
Q&A pairs
When you have a specific question with a specific answer, add a Q&A pair. Each pair is stored together, so when a visitor's question matches, the agent delivers your exact answer rather than paraphrasing.
Add a pair
Choose the Q&A option and enter a question and its answer.
Save and repeat
The pair is indexed immediately. Add as many pairs as you like.
Q&A pairs are great for answers that must be worded precisely — pricing rules, policy specifics, "do you offer X?" — because the agent returns your answer closely rather than rephrasing it.
Editing and retraining
Text and Q&A store their own content, so editing is instant and retraining simply re-indexes what you saved — there's nothing to re-fetch. See Training & sync.
