Files
Upload PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and CSV documents as knowledge — accepted types, size limits, and how usage is measured.
Upload documents and the agent will answer from their contents. File uploads require a plan that includes the file-uploads feature.

Type
Each file can be up to 25 MB. You can drag in several files at once.
How to upload
Open the uploader
On the agent's Data sources page, choose Files and open the upload dialog.
Drop your files
Drag and drop, or browse. The text is extracted in your browser and the file is uploaded securely. A progress bar tracks each file.
Done
Each file becomes a source and starts indexing automatically. Any file that fails (for example a scanned PDF with no readable text) stays visible with an error so you can review it.
How usage is measured
Your knowledge allowance counts the extracted text, not the file size. An image-heavy 14 MB PDF that contains only a few kilobytes of text uses only those few kilobytes of your allowance. This is why a large file can upload even when your remaining allowance looks small.
See Training & sync for the per-agent size limit and how it's displayed.
Editing and retraining
The extracted text is stored with the source, so retraining re-indexes that saved text rather than re-reading the original file. To update the content, upload a new version.
